Cable Jacketing Machine Operator

Check work order specs. Gather appropiate wire AWGs and lengths, plastic compounds, color
compounds, and material data sheets. Program and set up black, white, and silver print machines and
wheels for appropiate legend. Open and clean all parts to extruder head, calculate, select, and install
appropiate mesh screens, tip and die for extruder head. Seal extruder head. Program extruder to the
correct zone temps & outside diameter tolerances. Load wire reels onto the hydraulic unfurling and
coiling machines. Load plastic and color compounds into their respective hoppers and set hoppers to
appropiate mix saturation. Thread wire element through pulley system, center it through extruder head,
cooling system, and printers. Run extruder at optimal speeds. Subject finished jacketed cable samples
to Quality Control tests(i.e. microscope, signal continuity, psi break load, and od analysis). Record all
test results, scrap weights work order, lot and part numbers on material data sheets. Label, unload and
stage all jacketed reels. Produce 100K ft. to 160K ft. of high quality jacketed cable daily.
