- Ellen - September 16, 2011When I do find a job, this is the LAST agency I would ever do business with. I received an email from Jim Byrnes about a position and I set up an interview. I arrived at the interview and we discussed my background (as is normal) and what I was looking for and he spoke of a position that he was looking to fill. He said he would be submitting my resume to them and asked that I continue to follow up at least weekly. The problem is you can't ever get him (or his colleagues) on the phone! I even had a friend call and get through and when I called a minute later all of a sudden he is "in an interview". They are SO unprofessional and dishonest. I could never in good conscience recommend them to any job seeker OR work with them as a client looking to hire someone.

- anonymous - April 12, 2011This place is horrible. Was contacted and told to come in for a job that didn't exist. Met with Yolanda and was told that i had to call her on a weekly basis to see what was going on. When i did keep in touch with her on a weekly basis each time she made up an excuse about how things are slow and nothing was happening lately. This went on for 2-3 months just to see what new excuse she would come up with on a weekly basis before i got bored of wasting my time and giving her a call anymore

- Law School Grad - October 27, 2010I moved to Manhattan in early August of 2010, with a B.S. and a J.D. in hand, and shortly thereafter I registered with Asset Staffing. I e-mailed Nina Segal and tried to set up an initial interview, but I never received a reply. Furthermore, I attempted to get more information about several jobs posted on their site, but again I received no replies. Finally, roughly three months later, I received an e-mail from Jim Byrnes, asking me if I would be interesting in a particular position. He had copied and pasted the job qualifications and the job description, and attached a message consisting of 23 words asking about my level of interest in the position. Of those 23 words, there were three glaring typos, and the entire sentence was typed in all-caps. The job itself, however, was an attractive one, as was the pay. I immediately called him at the number given in his e-mail signature and told him that I would be interested and to please submit my resume for consideration. This was on a Friday afternoon, and he told me to give him a call back the following Monday and he would have more information then. That Monday morning I called him, and his secretary told me he was conducting interviews. I called him back later that afternoon and was given the same response. I called back a third time that day, and after a lengthy delay with his secretary, I was told, "Um, eh, I think he stepped out." I then sent him an e-mail hoping to get more information, as I was told by his secretary that this would go directly to his phone, but I never received a response. I called him again later in the week for more information, and it was the same, "Oh, yeah, um, he's not in right now" response. At this point I left him a message with my phone number and asked him to call, but he never did. I called once more on another day, and to no surprise I was unable to get in touch with him. It was roughly 2:00 PM and his secretary told me, "Oh, sorry, he's gone for the day." To this day I have still received no more information about this job or any other job for that matter. And keep in mind this is apparently the owner of the company I am referring to here, not some entry-level recruiter making a glorified minimum wage. In short, this staffing agency is ridiculously unprofessional at best and utterly useless at worst. They will do nothing affirmative on their end to help you find a job, nor will they be professional enough to even assist your own efforts to find a job. Any claims they make to the contrary lack veracity and are simply not credible. Their claims of assisting job-seekers are tantamount to claims made by late night infomercials. I am a graduate of a tier-one law school, and at the risk of sounding arrogant, if this company could not even get me an interview, the odds that they can get you a job are quite low. Truth be told, it's a waste of time even registering with this company. If you are really bored and truly have nothing better to do with your time, give it a shot, I suppose, but if you are legitimately relying on Asset Staffing, Jim Byrnes, and Nina Segal to help you find a job, you might as well spend your free time scouting out bridges to live under and reading the latest qualifications for unemployment and welfare benefits because that is where you will likely be headed next. I give them a zero-star rating, and I give them that only because RateATemp does not support negative star ratings.

- Jack Hoff - July 9, 2010This agency how shall i say is not that good. I have used them for 6 months and they only sent me out on one damn interview i am only giving them a one because they actual did get me an interview. Avoid like the plauge.

- anonymous - May 4, 2010this agency is horrible. After taking an assignment with them at a really good firm, they have not yet sent me my paychecks for the past few weeks. It is truly awful and they lie and say they sent the check out to the wrong address. I think they are swindlers.

- dr3am3r - December 17, 2009Have a meeting with them tomorrow for a call center position. I've never dealt with this company before, but i'll let everyone know how it goes. Hope all goes well.

- JustMe - November 16, 2009Registered with them last year. The office was very professional -- I do not identify with the previous poster's experience in the least. They sent me out to interview for a long-term temp spot with a big firm -- I wasn't chosen, but my experience was primarily with smaller firms so it was understandable. They never had anything else for me, but they do return phone calls and emails and are polite. By the way -- I spoke with Yolanda the other day. It was the first time I ever spoke with her. She was kind and on the ball -- found my info in the database 1-2-3 and updated me to active status.

- richard schultz - August 6, 2009This could very well be the most unprofessionlly ran "lower level recruiting business I have ever witnessed. The people there are poorly attired.summer or not the dress code is that of a college bookstore variety. the place has an 80's early 90's look and the service is emmensley poor. there are these very young african american women who talk their business outloud in front of prospective candidates and have no shame of the subject matter. the recruiters...namely a yoland has no professional decorum and never seems to call you when she says she will.. you have to run a so-called 'recruiter" down to give them business.really bad service. and I had a friend who was a law student looking for summer work who happens to be african american who told me not to go there and I who is "jewish" did not listen. i regret dealing w/ this place

- the poison pen - August 15, 2007The verdict is still out on this temp-agency.
