I have been register with this agency since 4 years ago and I just recently re-register with them again and gave them my updated resume. I pass all the computer tests and still not 1 call for a short or long term temporary assignment. They never pick up they damn phone either after the receptionist transfer the the call. This agency is a waste.

I'm actually surprised by all the negative comments. Perhaps things have changed since I used this agency about 10 years ago. It's a bit foggy on how long I waited to do the testing but at the end of the day even if I waited all day it was worth it. I was placed with the DOH and was kept as a perm for 9 years. I left because I was really sick carrying my now 6 mth old. I will be going bck to them and hopefully, the experience I once had resumes. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

I think this agency is a waste. I registered with them since 02-04-2011 and they never call me for any interviews.

- Maryjane - March 17, 2011

Waiting testing took about 2 1/2 hours. the actual interview was about 10 minutes. this was at the end of jan 2011 and as of today i havent received a call for work.

this is a unprofessional agency. They called me for job that was too far to commute, and then they said, I was not complying.

Total waste of time! A very low class, ghetto agency.

I get a call from a woman called Jennifer regarding my resume and my application for the operations manager position they posted. I am scheduel for an in-house interview. I show up 1/2 hr early to get a feel for the place ( I had read the above reviews, and wanted to see for myself). Not what you would expect out of an agency that is promoting operations work. I fail to mentioned that when I spoke to Jennifer, I asked her if the position was available and that I would get the opportunity to interview for it. She said that it was still available, I would be able to interview for the position, and that all I need was to fill out their paper work. I take this moronic of a test that my 3yr old can pass. Take in-point that when they ask you to take the exam, their systems don't allow for short-cuts. They interviewer (not a real interview, more like a taking a lunch order taker) goes over some paper work and then tells you they'll be intouch. What a waist of time, I could have gone to the beach with my daughter.

- anonymous lady - May 18, 2010

I went there for a 10am interview and was finally interviewed at 2:55pm, and it only lasted about 5 minutes. I was kept in a computer room testing and the person in charge of testing did not even know how to keep the computer from crashing on me. My test were lost and I had to sit on another computer and do it all again!! Besides, I need to get a doctors note before they hire me, bring proof of my illness, and do it all before my possible assignment which was in 48 hours.

they don't help the disable or help them. in the web page states they help the disable to have jobs. but I think it's a lie because I was a member but I'm no longer not because I was told from goodtemps I was no longer a member from good temps. especially I thought good temps was really working hard to help with disabilities. I think people should not bother to try this agency if they don't help you and kie to there web page to help the disable to live better lives.

I AGREE with you anonymous below about the STUPID GUTTER RAT that said such a NASTY comment about the Harrison, NJ office. I'm also working for them and has gotten hired full-time and benefits with the company that I got thru the NJ office. The office is Great and I thank them for helping me get my life back.

First of all, I will not give out your name. unlike what you did with Mrs, Fisher and Mrs. Semler names, because I have class about myself. Second of all I can't speak about GoodTemps New York because I did't apply there. But, I can speak about my experience with the Harrison, NJ location. I'm currently working for Mrs. Semler and the reason you posted this comment is because you were termanited not because of the reason you ststed, but because of your unprofessionalism and lack of hard work, why should an employer keep you HIRED within there company, when you are not producing and working together with your co=workers as a team. I don't blame the company for getting rid of you they should have fired you sooner. It's called DEAD WEIGHT. As far as Mrs. Fisher and Mrs. Semler is concerned my experience with both parties they treated me with respect and were professional with me. It is always the people that has been FIRED or THINK they have good work skills are the ones that writes such untrue comments as this. STOP BLAMING EVERYONE FOR YOUR UNPROFESSIONAL WAYS and hold onto a job.

This agency, also located in Harrison, NJ, is very unprofessional the recruiter, Gail Fisher, should be fired, if she already hasn't. My assignment was ended at the DIVISION OF DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES, because my supervisor, Mary Semler (who is a real b@#$h) there was upset that I did not want to attend a party for a coworker who was leaving for another position, and she went as far as to tell me that my temp assignment was in jeopardy. I was a temp, with low wages and no medical coverage through Goodtemps, and had no funds to contribute for this party. I called Gail Fisher to let her know that I suspect my assignment was about to be terminated by the supervisor there, Ms. Fisher said if they did end my assignment she would find me something else, she told me just to show up everyday and do what I had to do, and she asked me what was going on and I told her the situation. Also with this agency, you cannot fax your own timesheet over to the agency, there are two time sheets, one you complete, and give to your supervisor, and then they enter the information from your timesheet, to theirs and fax it. You as temp are not supposed to view the supervisor's timesheet. If the supervisor makes a mistake on the timesheet, you will not get paid for the following week, even if it is a mistake, and the agency knows what it is, they will not correct it and pay you, you have to wait for your supervisor to correct it, and re-fax it. Twice towards the end of my assignment did not get paid, I believe that b@#$h, Mary Semler, purposely filled the timesheet out wrong, because she had an issue with me not going to that party. After the assignment ended Gail Fisher tried to act as if she didn't know what had taken place and everytime I talked to this unprofessional person, she kept asking me what took place at the job site as if she had Alzheimer's, and she began telling me that if you're fired from an assignment, they can't place you on another assignment. So what happened to so called finding me another assignment? I stopped trying to communicate with this fool, there are other agencies, so F--K both of these b@#$hes!!!!!

I am very happy with this agency, they are very professional, I do sent my updated resume so they can find me a job when I am not working. Goodtemps calls me back and no later than 2 weeks, I am set with a job interview to start the next day, or prior city employer asks for me to came back to work for them again. I am blessed, I learned how the city jobs actually work on the different sites. I can not complaint. I believe that if you are prepared and eager to work it does not matter how long you wait in an interview, if you are sure about yourself and positive you get what you desire. Goodtemps never failed me and with GOD on my side even better. When one door closes another 2 or 3 opens with new oportunities. Everything happens for a reason. God works in mysterious ways. GOD bless you all!

This fuckin place sucks the sweat off a dead man's balls! I knew someone who was a recovering alcoholic and worked for them for a while. They abused him and ostracized him and he eventually relapsed and shot himself. They didn't care. Goodwill is anything but. They exploit their workers worse than the Salvation Army. They all need to be slaughtered.

- TylerDurden - November 18, 2008

Tried this agency in the summer of '05, and couldn't tell if I was in a welfare office or a temp agency. Either way, I waited for hours, filled out paperwork, had a short interview, and never heard from them again. Not such a Good Temp agency.

PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS AGENCY THEY SUCK BIG TIME! THEY ARE VERY UNPROFFESSIONAL>

- Anonymous - October 21, 2008

I must say that this agency really sucks. i was placed as a tem in the HRA MAP office on 2001. on 2002 my assignment was over. This unprofessional agency clearly stated that they would find me another job. We are now in 2008. They still haven't called me. I advise people not to even bother with this agency. They are a waste of time. cCheck out Winston Staffing. They are the BEST...

- anonymous - August 20, 2008

these people are awful, awful, awful. terribly unprofessional. use them at your own risk

- dont bother - August 16, 2008

dont bother with this agency. they are the most unprofessional staff agency ive applied to. THEY DO NOT HAVE JOBS FOR THOSE WITH NO MENTAL OR PHYSICAL DISABILITIES. I SCORED VERY VERY HIGH ON ENTRY AND OTHER TESTS AND WAS TOLD THEY WILL FIND ME A JOB. UMMM ITS BEEN MONTHS AND THEY JUST COMPLETELY WASTE YOUR TIME

- diane - August 5, 2008

this agency should tell the truth that they have no jobs for you.i took computer tests in this agency and got vey high scores from all those tests. they said they'll call me back but never heard from them and after 3 yrs they started to bother calling me again and telling me that they have jobs for me. they even let somebody to call my home number and asking for their performance. i said very, very, very poor coz they haven't get me a job. thanks! for wasting my time there waiting for more than 3 hrs. and nothing happened.

- anonymous - July 24, 2008

I am very disappointed at this agency. I have been working this assignment for 1 year, and I cannot go into permanent positon. It is civil job, and civil employer cannot hire applicant candidate from outside. Actually, I did not have that much of experience in the city job. It made me a full of myself being part of this agency. It was very slow environment.

- myron - May 6, 2008

what a horrible place, don't waste your time. They only have jobs for disabled people, because their part of goodwill. they make you sit there for THREE HOURS just to get a five minute interview.

- anonymous - February 18, 2008

This place is awful. If you aren't disabled don't even bother. They won't even tell you that you don't fit their specialty. They'll just make you sit there, take the tests, and tell you they'll get back to you. I've been waiting for 6 months and I would have never hear from them if I never called to check up with them.

- Steve - January 28, 2008

They told me they would definitely have temp jobs for me when I told them I had a medical disability. However, I didn't sign the disability form. I was never placed by this agency.

- anonymous - December 26, 2007

I hired 10 temps and the first thing they asked me when the arrived was "what time is the first break" and it went down hill from there. I would NEVER use this agency again.

- anonymous - November 12, 2007

Don't deal with these people. As others have been saying, the interview process is a joke. They don't ask any questions and you'll basically wait 2 hours just to fill out some paperwork and be on your way. Despite being more than qualified (based on my computer tests and resume) they still haven't gotten back to me with any work after almost a month. A did notice a few things while I was waiting for hours in their waiting room. They are a division of Goodwill, and they specialize in placing people with disabilities and other people who might not be able to get jobs. So unless you're handicapped or mentally disabled, don't waste your time.

- anonymous - August 12, 2007

I've just been "interviewed" by this agency. They don't even read your resume before the computer test. Mine clearly stated IT Manager experience and the guy at the computer department asked me if I know word!!! Then had me entry some data in some god**** columns and sent me back in the waiting room. Overall, I've waited 6 hours and the interview only took 5 minute. If you want to give them a try, arm yourself with nerves of steel and patience. Good luck and have them test you for all that you know, ask all the questions.

How can anyone say that this temp-agency is so good that they were actually making mother****in' excuse for not seeing me,what I meant by that is in November of 2005,I had went to the agency in hopes of getting a job thru them, and they made the most outlandish excuse for not going forward with the interviewing process, the stupid assed faggot interviewer had said that he could not use my identification because, get this ****in' bull**** excuse that he had for me,he said that he couldn't use my identification because my non-drivers license i.d. didn't have the suffix Jr. on it but my social security card did,and I was like, what difference does it make if one i.d. had the suffix "Jr" on it and the other one didn't,and he smart-assedly replied, those are our company's rules and those were the rule s that they had to go by,but the stupid-assed faggot mother****er said to me that I needed to go to either the D.M.V to fix my non-drivers license i.d. or I could go to the Social Security Office to fix my Social Security Card. And I simply left the ****in'ass office in disgust.

- Victoria - June 13, 2007

This was my first temp agency and I must say that it was beyond disappointing. It was frustrating to deal with them. They had me wait FOUR WHOLE HOURS before they finally called me and the interview lasted maybe five minutes.

- Lauren - April 9, 2007

I have been very happy with GoodTemps. The people there are genuine and really care about the employee's happiness. They found me a wonderful job, I've worked at this spot for 3 months and am up for training and possible permanent position. P.S. I have been temping for 15 years here in New York City and have never worked with an agency so professional and so good hearted! They definitely have earned their name!

- Karen - February 27, 2007

I am extremely disappointed with this agency and refuse to work them. They wasted 4 hours of my time, and after calling for over a month to give my availibility, I was then told I could not be sent out because one paper was not signed and no one was aware of this for the whole month I was calling. They are complete unprofessional and a waste of time and effort for prospective temps

- William - June 2, 2006

I have dealt with this temp-agency and I must say that I am very, very dissappointed this temp-agency simply because I was waiting for someone at this agency to interview me and it took them almost one hour to get to me and the initial interview itself took only 2 minutes. And the stinking reason as to why it only took 2 minutes for the interviewer of this temp-agency to interview me because he said that my social security card and my non-drivers license identification had two different names, for example my my social security card had the suffix Jr. on it and my non-drivers license ID did not,and that was the reason why the interview was terminated.
