- anonymous - January 26, 2012I'm so happy I found this page! I'll warn you!! This woman is a mess!!! A big, bleached, overly-tan, Jersey train wreck!!! She seems to only has access to these Bollywood films that no one has ever heard of, or non-union commercial work. She then submits union talent on non-union - even though you tell her that you are union. Hmmm. A manager that doesn't even know your union status??? And then she says that YOU are being difficult????? Nope. Just staying within the law and not scabbing on a $50/day job. She even pulls the 'ol, "You'll never work in this town again, baby!!!" HAHAHA Oh, how wrong you were!!! Rita, you're obviously good "casting" extras. Stick with that and let people who know what they're doing represent talent.

- anonymous - November 29, 2011I am sorry, But these positive comments are a joke. Rita is so conniving, and sneaky and definitely not to be trusted. She is a thief and a scammer and has not only taken me for money, but 5 other actors that I know about and many more. The stories are all true. The NCOPM should remove her credentials. How she sleeps at night I have no idea. Wonder what she would do if her kids were treated like how she treats people. Karma's a bitch. Stay AWAY!!!!!!!!

- anonymous - October 2, 2011It sure seems to be one funny little setup there.... "Manager", "Casting Director".... I'd say she's a non-union agent at best. Rich Cole, Telsey, Tara Rubin et all won't be calling you in through this office. I can pretty much promise that! Send her a headshot if you're a hobby actor. Professionals....well, you've heard the stories....

- Geri from R4TS - August 20, 2011I am also in Talent Management and have had the PLEASURE of working with Rita. We get along very well and I have never had a problem either working with her or my Talents getting paid from her. It's just sad when people have nothing else to do in their lives that they look to put innocent people down. I know because I have had a few bad Talents that instead of blaming themselves for their own downfalls look to blame others. Stalkers are just Sad, Lonely people. And I give Rita a lot of credit, she's a great person. Just keep being yourself and the people who truly are your friends will stick by you . . I am honored to be not only a business associate but hopefully a friend . . Geri

- anonymous - May 24, 2011How can you be a casting director and an agent at the same time?

- Pam - May 5, 2011She got my son SAG background work on "Musical Chairs," and his check arrived promptly. Sounds good to me.

- jok - April 25, 2011The problem with the internet anyone can say anything, so it's sad that someone as reliable as Rita Powers name can be smeared by probably some low life, bad actors who are out on a smear campaign. Everyone in this industry thinks they can sing, dance and act...Oh please

- anonymous - February 20, 2011This woman is full of crap! if you ever get a phone call from her just hang up the phone. she will make you track her down to get payment. The only thing she can get is crap background work and will not try to get you the pay you deserve.

- anonymous - February 17, 2011I met Rita many years ago and she charged me money up front in exchange for management services. She is a con artist and scammer. She prays on actors and models that don't know enough about the industry. Stay away.

- anonymous - January 17, 2011As we all too well know in this business, being a member of the NCOPM does not a good manager make. And Rita Powers is the prime example. She'll try to get you a few nonunion auditions a month, but NOTHING SAG/AFTRA and only open calls for AEA work. Don't waste your time.

- Rita Powers - December 3, 2010This is Rita Powers. I am writing this to correct some errors. I am a Manager in the NCOPM. Whoever wrote I do business with my brother is mistaken, My only brother died 9 years ago. I have never had an office in the 20's, always on Greenwich st. If you have any questions my number is 212-965-1683

- anonymous - November 29, 2010Thanks for the input. I think I Will stay away!

- Anonymous - November 23, 2010Rita Powers is hopeless & she's a liar.. Liars are pathetic. She has no connections!! There are SO many other great people to work with in NYC!

- anonymous - November 17, 2010Run. That's what you should do. How this woman is still in business after this many years is beyond me. She and her brother do nothing but scam and lie. And you'll NEVER be paid.

- anon - November 17, 2010She's full of it. my son met her a few years ago w/ her partner in an office in the w. 20's or something. Her and her receptionist and partner were 1 hour late, took pic deposits(never took)and my son got 2 jobs. 1 non-union Bull that was a set-up w/ the wrong pay, the other my son traveles far and NEVer got paid !!! Run ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuun !!! She has no contacts !!

- anonymous - October 30, 2010She'll submit you to the same 5 casting directors for nonunion commercial work. If you're an actor looking for legit (AEA/SAG) work- keep looking. She can't get you in.

- AR - September 25, 2010This is an answer to the anonymous response. Rita Powers does pay the actors and her clients do get work. I am always paid by her and have never been lied to, received correct information about the shoot I booked. She is a legitimate manager and has always helped out her actors. I do not want to hear anymore bad mouthing Rita Powers anymore. I was able to book a bollywood film role and I am auditioning for speaking roles through Rita. She does casting for all types of roles Anyone who wants to say anything about Rita Powers it has to be positive.

- anonymous - September 19, 2010Actually, I've heard bad things about her as well. We have never met, but a friend of mine REALLY had a bad experience working with her. Not getting paid, was lied to, received incorrect information about the shoot he booked. I would stay with more legitimate Managers. This guy works a lot and says to avoid her like the plague. Are her clients working? In anything othr than what she casts? And yes, she is an extras casting director. You can view her imdb page. That should tell you something right there...

- Roger - September 9, 2010i was also approached by Rita. She is great and please do not write anything negative about Rita. She is not a fraud. She is not a extras casting director? If she has a lead role she will cast you for it if you are qualified.

- anonymous - September 1, 2010i was approached by Rita. She is interested in me and wants to make an appointment to sit and talk with me? are the negative comments really true. I dont think she can be a fraud considering she doesnt want any money from me. I am excited so i hope she can help me. Is she only a extras casting director?

- anonymous - August 21, 2010Rita is absolutely horrible to work with. Unprofessional, dishonest, and as one TOP casting director says - "useless." She has no connections. she is an extras casting director. Actually, she's a "manager" and a "casting director" - which should tell you straight away to steer clear of this woman.

- Raj - May 19, 2010The negative comments are not true...

- Rajeev Pahuja - May 19, 2010Rita is awesome! She is a go-getter and works with her actors! Rita is the best casting director I ever met. Not only for the actor but the client as well .she will stay with you every minute until you are on that set. Full of integrity, and she CARES about her actors. Has awesome connections in the industry. She's very supportive, and gets actors work!

- Anonymous - January 16, 2010Horribly disgorganized. Doesn't get you call times until last minute. Doesn't give you the correct information regarding payoment. She lied to an entire cast of extras regarding an AFTRA agreement and the production company was left with about 30 enraged people. AFTRA rep actually had to come to set to try and work everything out. Worst part is that nothing will happen to Rita even though it was all her fault. I hope to never work with her again.

- anonymous - September 17, 2009STAY AWAY!

- anonymous - March 30, 2009Rita is a go-getter! Very pro-active and open to newcomers. Has great connections in the industry. She's very supportive, especially great in the non-union world, and gets her people work!

- anonymous - December 19, 2008Rita is kind and reputable- had a hard time for awhile, but she and Sean got it together!

- anonymous - December 14, 2008no she isn't if you look her up under imdb, you can see all of the casting that she has done

- liebkin - November 15, 2008Rita and Sean are frauds. Steer clear. She must have written the Oct. 19th comment herself.

- terrancetrache - October 19, 2008rita is the best.not only for the actor but the client as well .she is very responsible and stays with you every minute until you are on that set. intelligent ,charming full of integrity, and CARES about her actors.
