- anonymous - October 10, 2011Thanks to everyone....i just moved to wa, i had a weird feeling. They keep calling. Hope they dont call again.

- Greeley, Colora - October 20, 2009I worked for Apple One and first of all was told the company I was to interview with was closer to my home than it was.I guess I just should have not went to the job anymore but trying to not put Apple One out and needing a job, I stayed. However, I expressed to Apple One within a couple of weeks of starting the job that I was uncomfortable and did not fit in at the company, I received no response. Then spoke to them 3 or 4 times spread out over 6 months or so again.Nothing.So I stuck it out.And later decided it was now, for sure, time for change from this particular company.I phoned Apple One,was told to come in and discuss and told over the phone that they could definitely find me something else.(I realize it is not all up to Apple One to place me elsewhere but was told that they could accomplish this.)Went to Apple One's office to talk with one rep. when another rep.(maybe higher in rank) later finding out, seemingly to be good friends with my supervisor, spoke up from a desk that made it necessary to practically yell, that for them to place me elsewhere was a "conflict of interest." Then this same rep. actually had the guts to come into the company that I was employed a couple of days later, knowing she would need to stand right in front of me while waiting for my supervisor and proceeds to have lunch with my supervisor. Now, my gut feeling was that she was possibly discussing me coming to Apple One pursuing a different job. There is a possibility this was not the case but why put me in this situation?I felt bullied once again, as I did at the job I held, and bullied by her by making me feel completely uncomfortable meeting with my supervisor. Why not meet at the restaurant or wherever???This behavior completely floored me and makes me realize how unprofessional and how so many times the employee is treated like garbage and thrown to the wolves.I just keep learning how disgusted I am with all this nasty behavior and how disgusting so many people in business are.God help us.What happened....

- Mayra Llerenas - April 16, 2009I need something to doing in my time off i thinking working.Try to me make busy.

- Laurie - April 1, 2009I agree with anonymous. The same thing happens at AppleOne in California. I believe most of their job ads are fake and I've started a blog to collect names of people who want to initiate a class action lawsuit against them. It's at tempagencylawsuit.blogspot.com. Laurie

- anonymous - August 15, 2008I signed up with Apple One about 5 months ago. I went in and met with an AE but never had to take any tests, which I thought was odd. I went a whole 2 months without hearing from them. I finally heard something about a sales position with a local university. They told me that admin positions were few and far between in this down market. I found that hard to believe but I needed a job so I went on the interview with the school. I got the job. It was temp to hire and they got rid of me after a week. The reasons they gave me were hard to swallow. They then sent me on another interview. I didn't get a good vibe from the company and told my rep that. She got very upset. I figured I would never hear from them again. I did though. This is when things were getting really weird. I got a call about an interview with an international company. she said they were interviewing on Thursday and Friday. I told her Friday would work better for me. She said that she needs me to go in on Thursday. Why give me an option then?! She told me I had an interview at 10 am. Apple One never asks you what times work for you. It is like they schedule you with the company before they even call you. I went to that interview and never heard a word. Two weeks later I contacted AO and they said my rep got promoted. She couldn't follow up with me? Tell me I didn't get the job? I now have a new rep that constantly asks me for a copy of my resume. I have stopped sending it to her. She has it. She doesn't need it 10 times. I also got very very suspicious of this company when my new rep called me yesterday. These people are so unorganized and unprofessional. She called me about a temp job but couldn't give me any information besides the pay rate. She was talking in circles and also mentioned another temp to hire job. I was on the other line in complete silence. I couldn't believe she did have all the facts right in front of her. I later go an email about the temp to hire position. She set up an interview without even checking with me. I guess Monday at 3:00 will have to work! I then asked her about the temp position. She emailed the info. It was with x company and it was for one week. I figured that if I didn't get the temp to hire position, I would consider doing the one week job. She called me later and left a message saying that she needed to set up an interview the next day for the temp job. I need to interview for a position I will have for 5 days? It is not even worth my time! I ignored her. This was so ludicrous. I know now that they are totally working on numbers. She has called me 5 times now trying to set up an interview. If I really cared about placing someone I would assume the person was not interested and quit calling them. I also felt throughout my entire experience with this company that I was being sent on interviews as a "filler" person.

- anonymous - December 12, 2007JOB SEEKERS BEWARE - NEW CLIENTS BEWARE - I am a former employee of AppleOne in Houston. In fact, I was one of their "recruiters" that was supposed to place people that were looking for "real jobs" by trusting what the seen on Monster.com and many other various job boards to be a real job! I only worked there for a few months and then I had to move on to an ethical company and a place where I felt comfortable in working at. About 60% to 75% of AppleOne's jobs are what they call "GHOST ADS." These are ad's of FASLE jobs which are jobs that don't exists. Bernie Howroyd is the owner of AppleOne and all it's subsidiaries - and this man is a genius at SCREWING the trusting people really needing a job. He has operated this company to have his branches post Ghost Ad's to only get applicants in his doors throughout the country just in order to gather YOUR leads – or the information you know about other companies or companies you’ve worked for in the present or past. What I mean is he wants to know where you worked in the past, who you reported to, did you go through an agency, if so which one, who was the inside contact who worked with the competitor agency of AppleOne and all their contact numbers. This allows his branches to now have a "warm lead." Now his recruiters a/k/a Account Executives are able to call into a company or potentially a new client for AppleOne with all the information they need to make their sales call. AppleOne USES YOU TO GROW THEIR BUSINESS NOT GET YOU A JOB!! For those of you who have "registered" with them, you want to know why they ask you so many questions about your past jobs, who you reported to, who your boss reported to, and what your friends and family does for a job?? You guessed it! They are USING YOU FOR YOUR INFORMATION to further their cause in order to get a new client - NOT TO GET YOU A JOB!! Ok, so you ask, if they are getting so many clients by the information you supply them then why can’t they still place you in a job?? Do you research about the staffing industry. It is a very competitive and cut throat industry with loads of turnover and terminating business relationships for the next best agency or the one that does not charge as high of a margin. The problem is they are flooded with applicants that register with them that does not keep up with the actual amount of real jobs they have. I’m speaking from personal experience. About every 15 to 20 people I registered with AppleOne, maybe 1 of those would actually get placed. In my office of 7 Account Executives (AE’s)/Recruiters, we only had about 10 to 15 REAL JOBS open at any given week. However, if you were to do your research on all the job boards they are posting on you would probably think they would have at least 35 to 40 jobs available out of each branch. What sucks about this is the company requires it’s AE’s to have at LEAST 5 JOB POSTINGS PER AE. So if the branch you visit has 5 AE’s, than you should have at least 25 jobs posted and maybe 8 to 10 of those are real jobs – or if the office as 10 AE’s there should be at least 50 postings (again at least 60+ of those are Ghost Jobs). I hate AppleOne and AppleOne Sucks!! They lie to their employees about everything, and most tragically they lie to those who register with them. I think anyone personally who works for AppleOne lacks character and the basic level of ethics in order to represent this company. This is why I left and why I post my opinion and commentary about this JOKE of a company. Do yourself a favor, approach with caution, be prepared to spend around 2 hours in their branch taking test, filling out paperwork, interviewing with an AE only to be interrogated for information they want to know to get into companies you use to work for in order to help themselves and not you gaining themselves a new client – NOT YOU A NEW JOB! There are 3 branches in the Houston, TX market, and I would not recommend NOT ONE of them. All the branch managers there are unethical and nothing but back biting dogs against each other in their branches b/c they compete against each other and most frankly – this company posses no character, integrity or honestly. Their story sounds good – they are the largest privately owned staffing agency in the nation and almost a billion dollar company with over 300 locations nationwide… Like I said, Bernie the owner, he is a genius with the business model of AppleOne and how he in my opinion exploits employees and applicants that has only made him a fat, disgusting, British Billionaire who came to America b/c he couldn’t do this in his own country. – “Love.” (That’s Bernie’s trademark salutation)…

- Go elsewhere! - September 29, 2006I agree with "Mad in Colorado". I also had a similar experience with Apple One. The staff was thoroughly unprofessional and disrespectful. And when they called me about a job when I was out of town and unable to return the call, they refused to call me for anything else.

- Mad in Colorado - August 23, 2006Appleone is HORRIBLE!!! I was all set up for a job through them, and the afternoon before it was to start, they called and cancelled the job. Then, once I turned down a position with another company what was too low paying then I could afford (I told them my salary requirements) they blacklisted me and had nothing to do with me anymore. They wouldn’t return phone calls, e-mails nor online applications! When I called to inquire as to why, I received nothing but attitude and insults. They REFUSED to help me any longer!! Never mind the fact they never really helped me to begin with. This company should not be used, ever.
