View Full Version : What kind of research??
Before going to the personal interview, my freinds always tell me to research about the company. But what kind of research should I do on the company I'm applying?

Yes it is essential to do a research about the company your applying to. This includes basic information like when it actually started, is it owned by a single person, partners or group and a brief background check. Good luck on your research. :)

It's a good thing that you came to me..now listen carefully..First and foremost research about the lunch room. How wide is that? What are the dimensions? Are there any take-home-eat-all-you-want bonus features?
I'm just kidding. Ofcourse research is important. Do a check up on the company background...about your position..what's the usual pay for this position..Anything of value that can't be put to use.

Always research the company, use the internet, people who worked there, call them - tell whoever answers that you are seeking information on their company. During the interview process, ask questions about the company - this shows that you are quite interested in working for that company.

Just worry more about what kind of work they are looking for. Then research the WORK. Brush up on any skills you may need for your potential new job or the position they are offering. They don't expect you to know too much about the company, after all, you don't work there yet!

Do your homework for the interview research. It will give you a good impression. Research about the company, the particular position you are interviewing for, the general salary range and anything that might give you an edge. But remember not to mention anything about salary. It's their job to bring it up.
