All applicants wants to know their salary rate offered by the company. I'm planning to apply for a job. I just want to know, what do you think is the best way to negotiate a salary offer?

salary negotiation can be one of the difficult aspects of the interview process. Do not bring this up until they are sold on you. Do some research on the company and salary range for the position you are applying for. Have a salary range in mind and be prepared to discuss these figures. Don't discuss about your past salary. Be ready to markey yourself. Emphasise your skills and the reasons why you should get the job.

Understand the financial context and negotiate effectively. Understand the value of the particular job for which you've applied and do a research on whats the usual salary. You should also know how much your work is worth. You also know your own financial goals, liabilities. Discover what your employer's various interests and try to reach a common ground.

Some job ads list the salary range, others make no mention of it, and still others request that applicants send in their salary requirements with the initial application. So is there really a need to negotiate? and it's widely agreed that a job applicant should never bring up salary before the interviewer does.

The golden rule is that you don't mention anything about salary until you are offered the job. You can negotiate your salary when the letter of offering is sent to you. Learn to sell yourself, know what you are worth and know what's the usualy salary range for this job and don't accept jobs that pay less than your current one.

If you are in a strong position - lots of offers, outstanding technical skills, little competition - negotiating may be a matter of naming your price. Even so, strategy is important. You want your manager and coworkers to be glad to have you, not resentful of your demands.

Negotiating salary can be very uncomfortable. It depends. You have more leverage negotiating salary in the private sector versus the public sector. If you are planning to negotiate during the interview, the best you can do is ask for the maximum starting salary for that position by citing requirements that you exceed.
