Hello.

I am considering moving from admin support in the legal field to HR particularly HRIS. Does anyone have experiences or knowledge to share about general suggestions on this move?

Is there a distinct benefit to being into the Information Systems of HR? (more jobs, stability..?)

How do you "break into" HR?

What areas of HR are in demand?

What is the future of HR? Where is it heading?

What are the keys to moving up into higher levels of HR?

How do you gain competitive advantage in the field?

Is HR in demand? If so, what industry employs the most HR professionals?

Any personal success stories? or likewise any HR career nightmares?

What are the biggest challenges facing a HR person (entry level or seasoned)?

How would you describe a typical day? (What part of your day is spent doing what)?

What do you like least and most about working in HR or in your position?

If you could choose to be in any other field other than HR, what would it be? Why?

What type of person performs best and truly enjoys the HR field?

What are the best industries or sources to contact for further info?

Please feel free to reply or offer any additional comments.

Thanks for any responses.
