I am a seasoned hospitality professional with a background in sales and customer service .

It recently occurred to me that a career as a Human Resources Management professional would make a good fit for me. I have an eye for detail love to work with a diverse group of individuals, Eventually, I would like to get involved with training and development.

I have expressed my interest to pursue my goals with my current HR Management team and have tried to apply for transfers within the rather large organization I work for, without any success thus far.

I recently started taking an intense SHRM certification course and would like to know how I might further advance on my quest to become a HR Generalist. A majority of the job postings in the field indicate the need for a Bachelor's Degree and EXPERIENCE. I have an Associates Degree in Hospitality and have held administrative, managerial and supervisory positions.

Quite anxious to get started on my career path. Any suggestions and input would be greatly appreciated.

A good degree for an HR personnel and a good experience will help you get a good position in the HR field. I think you have a keen interest in this field and ow you should look forward to work for real in an HR agency.

I would suggest to start working on your Bachelors degree. Most colleges accept prior learning credits. It sounds like you have an ample amount of experience, so I would look into a college and see exactly how long it would take to earn your degree.

College is the best way to get into the field. This job has a lot of requirements and having the knowledge and skills will land you the job. I would get your degree and get into the field to gain some experience.

Gaining experience seems to be the topic of the month. Polish up your skills in the HR departments and continue to advance your education in this field. You're obviously taking a great interest in pursuing this, and patience will win in the end. You're already on the right path, just keep on it and you will find jobs come your way.
