I am currently working for a training department for a biotech company, however, this department is not in HR. When I first started, I had thought of going into Human Resources but am not as interested in working with benefits, payroll, etc. Now however, I am interested in learning more about Organizational Development. This is within HR, right? What sort of things do individuals in this department do? Also, what are some examples of position titles and job requirements? What sort of education and training would I need to for jobs in this field? And how difficult would it be if i decide to transfer from biotech to other fields, such as education?

I think there is a very small difference between HR and organisational development. As both deal with interior employees and their betterment May be you can get rid of hiring and stuff but still its very similar to HR.

I think that human resource is organizational development are quite different. Human resource focus on the employees payroll, benefits, etc. Organizational development involves organizational reflection, system improvement, planning, and self-analysis. I think the two are different due to the tasks involved with the job. With organizational development you are working to achieve the company’s goals. When I was obtaining my Bachelors degree I could either focus on HR management or Organizational leadership. I chose HR management.
